Illustration done back in 2012 for one of the loading screens for the upcoming Iphone and Android collectable card game War Command
, depicting The Gharrana emerging from a portal! Spent a lot of time on this one as it was one of the most ambitious and complicated pieces I'd done at the time, and it took a lot of work to get it the way we wanted.
Done entirely in Photoshop CS5, the sky started as a matte-painting but besides that it was all painted with a WACOM intuos3 tablet.
The Barren Mage character was originally rendered by Edward Wang, which I painted over and incorporated into the scene.
