Day of the Guiding Light

Album artwork for my buddy, Australian Hip Hop artist Optimystic MC's upcoming release. Be sure to go over and like his Facebook page if you dig it! There's more artwork and a speed painting music video on the way soon so stay tuned for updates.

The illustration depicts Optimystic MC, a shamanistic conjurer and shape shifter - with his two elemental dragons ; the Sun and the Moon. The Guiding Light emanates from the centre, with his infernal caged heart glowing from within.

Spent a lot of time on this one and really tried to nail it. Was great to work with Matt in person and have him give direction on exactly what he wanted face to face. Thanks a lot for being such a great client man!

All done in Photoshop CS5 with my WACOM intuos3 tablet - roughly 15 hours or so.
